Here it is Day 5 already.

Today has been a lazy day.

I have some things I need and want to get done

but,

I can't get anyone else in the house to help me

and I need some help.

GGGgggggrrrrrrr

Oh well, I'm not going to stress out over it.

So tonight I was editing some pictures in the computer

so that's what I'm doing in this picture.

I'm hoping to make up some photo albums for Christmas.

Hopefully, they'll turn out the way I'm hoping :)

Not much of a paragraph

but,

I'm kinda tired of sitting at the computer desk.

Day 4

Well it's day 4 and although I'm really late in posting I didn't forget.

I had to get my son off the computer

and then wait for the stupid thing to decide it wanted to work.

So anyways,

here's today's picture & a paragraph.

Here I am drinking my coffee.

I love coffee

and I love sitting in my glider rocker

with my feet up on the gliding ottoman

while I drink it.

The kids and Earl were all off today because of Veteran's Day

so we spent the morning together

went to Target and got Jace some badly needed socks

and then to Wal-Mart and got Ezie a pair of jeans (he only had 1 pair)

Mallory some boots and Christmas socks,

Jace a Halloween clearance sword & shield for $1.00

and some crochet thread and fabric for me to make Christmas Gifts.

Then to Aldi's

and finally got some food in the house.

I came home ate and took a short nap and then

me, my coffee and rocker and my daily picture.

A day with my family,

food in the house,

and a car that ran!

Yay for a great day!

Thanks to all the Men & Women that have sacrificed their own lives

so that we could have such a great day!

Day 3

Today is Day 3 of my picture & a paragraph.

I decided to be a little different today

and so

I took a picture of me in the shower.

Don't worry......it's just my face

NOBODY see's my naked body,

well, except Earl.

Anyways, I felt like being silly.

We got the car back last night. Earl's loan shark friend came through and left us borrow a $1,000.00. So $500.00 went to the car and $500.00 goes to the rent.

So now we're in debt further.

Oh well, we have heat, hot water, a stove,

a place to live

and an uninspected car to drive around in.

Life is good!

Day 2 ....Well Kinda...Sorta

Today is day two of my picture and paragraph a day.

Well day 2 of taking a picture and day one of posting

because I didn't post yesterday.

Oh well....I've never been good at following through

and obviously I'm not good at starting either.

So here I am today.

As usual....no makeup, my hair barely brushed,

and my multiple chins.

This is me though

Day 2 of getting to know myself.

Life is a little better today.

This guy that Earl works with is a kind of loan shark

and is letting us borrow $1,000.00

so that we can get our car out of the shop and pay this weeks rent.

I think this man is an asshole and charges us a lot of interest,

but we really need the car and need to be able to pay the rent.

So asshole or not,

I'm thankful he's got the money to loan us!

So hopefully he follows through and we'll see what tomorrow brings.

It's me....Sherry.

I'm back after a few years.

I've felt lost for the last several years.

I think it really started when I got pregnant with Jace.

Which was a over 6 years ago.

I don't know why,

but

that's just the way it is.

So anyway,

I want to do something unique.

The only thing is I can't think of anything unique to do.

Damn!

So for now I thought I'd do a picture and paragraph a day of me for a year

so I can see how or if I think I've changed any

over the next year.

Why am I doing this you might ask???

Maybe because I'm kinda lonely, lost, want to make changes in myself, don't like the people that read my other blog to know that I'm a totally self pitying type of person.

So, here's my picture from yesterday.

UGH!!!

I took this picture right after the guy came and locked our propane tanks because we haven't had the money to pay the bill of $468.00. Not having propane means no heat, no hot water and no oven. We went 7 weeks last spring without propane because of the landlords screw up and I really don't want to go through that again.

The man was really nice and let me post date a check until Friday.

So......

oops! there went the rent money.

What's a girl to do????

That's why I have the ugh face.

Tomorrow will be better though.

Bordering on Israel and Saudi Arabia, Jordan is a key U.S. ally in the Middle East.

Virtually all of Jordan's residents are Muslim.

Their 31 year old Queen Rania says now more than ever it is important to clarify misconceptions about her religion, Islam and Muslim women.

"Unfortunately, the means that they have used are ones that are condemned all over the Arab world.We do not approve of these terrorist acts or any gruesome activities like the ones we saw on September 11. The American people have to realize that the whole world is with them, they feel with them."

Oprah: You were recently here in New York, and as I understand it, you went to Ground Zero with Mayor Giuliani. What was that like?

Queen Rania: I think for the past couple of weeks we've all been struggling with what happened on September 11, trying to understand it, trying to make sense of it. We've all been glued to our televisions trying to comprehend what happened. It really made a difference to me when I was actually there, when I went to Washington and New York, and visited some of the family centers.I had the opportunity to speak to some of the families of the victims, some of the children who have been orphaned and some of the workers who had been working day in and day out. I began to really understand and appreciate the enormity of the tragedy, and the extent of it, and just how many people were affected by it. It was very, very difficult for me, but I was very inspired by the resolve and the strength of the people that I saw.

Oprah: I've heard you say that as we attempt to fight this war against terrorism, whether it is militarily, diplomatically, through other resources, that this is an opportunity for the United States to perhaps reach out to other disenfranchised countries. Is that true?

Queen Rania: Absolutely. I think that this is a new chapter in human dialogue between the United States and the rest of the world and between countries all over the world. For the first time in history, we all have a combined objective. We all have this common enemy, terrorism. We all need to draw our resources together and fight the common war, each [country] in its own area of expertise, whether it's through intelligence, militarily or economically. It's very important that we all come together on this issue and really fight this war together.

Oprah: When this first happened on September 11, I think it came as a shock to so many of us that other people in the world hated us so much. Can you help explain that to us?

Queen Rania: I think it's very important that you realize that for the majority of Muslims, they do not hate Americans. They do not hate the American way of life. In fact, many countries look at the American model as one that needs to be replicated, one that they aspire to achieve.We are talking about a minority of people who feel that they have been unjustly treated by the United States. Some of them feel that U.S. foreign policy might have been partial and not completely fair to all parties involved, and they wanted their voice to be heard. Unfortunately, the means that they have used are ones that are condemned all over the Arab world.We do not approve of these terrorist acts or any gruesome activities like the ones we saw on September 11. The American people have to realize that the whole world is with them, they feel with them. They are not hated by the rest of the world. Some people feel unfairly treated, but I think that dialogue is the way to understand each other and to reach out to each other.

Oprah: What we're trying to do on this show today is to bring about an understanding of what it's like to be Muslim in the world, and what is Islam. I think there's a lot of confusion. You're very westernized, and then we see women wearing the hoods, the burqas and the hijabs. What makes one acceptable, and the other not? Are you accepted in your country not wearing the scarves? What does the scarf represent?

Queen Rania: I'd really like to commend you for having Islam as the subject of your show. I think this is the right time to reach out and have this open, ongoing dialogue about different religions.[Just] like in Christianity, there are different interpretations of Islam, and there are different degrees of conservatism. It's a personal choice. Some people are more conservative than others. The important thing is the spirit of Islam. That is all about tolerance, about doing good, diversity, quality, and human dignity.The fact that Islam is very tolerant means that it doesn't impose anything on other people. You are supposed to behave in a certain way, or dress in a certain way out of conviction, not because somebody imposes their own ideology on you. I believe one's relationship with God, and how one chooses to practice religion, is an intensely personal choice.

Oprah: So you as an individual choose whether or not you want to be robed or not robed, or wear your head covered or not? That's not imposed upon you by your religion?

Queen Rania: In our country, that is what we believe. We give women the choice to wear the headscarf or not. It's a personal choice. As I said, it is not the state that is supposed to impose on individuals what they believe in. That is their own personal choice.

Oprah: Are you a practicing Muslim?

Queen Rania: Yes, very much so. Muslims are required to pray five times a day. We fast the holy month of Ramadan, which is, I guess, equivalent to Lent in Christianity. We are meant to give to charity. Once in our lifetime, we have to make a pilgrimage to the holy site of Mecca. These are the basic principles and practices of Islam. But more importantly, Islam is about spiritual fulfillment, about morals, about trying to purify your soul. That is something that has to be very much emphasized.

Educate yourselves. Not all Muslims are evil or are out to kill Americans. They're are a few extremists Muslim's just as there are in any religion. Do we hate all white people because of the KKK? Do we hate all Germans because of the Holocaust? There are extremist out there in every belief system and they DO NOT AND SHOULD NOT represent the whole.

Did any one catch fireflies (lightning bugs) and put them in a jar when they were kids? I did and I remember having so much fun chasing them around trying to catch them, put them in my jar and then just watch with amazements as the those little insects would put out the most amazing glow. I can sit on my porch now and see the lightening bugs flashing their little lights in the park across the street and I still watch with amazement!

Norah Jones

Norah Jones was born Geetali Norah Jones Shankar. Her father is Indian and her mother American. I never realized she was Indian, see what you learn when you do a little research. Anyway, I love Norah Jones music and her voice is so pretty. I saw her on David Letterman, which I never watch, it just happened to be on, which is pretty weird because my little guy usually stays up late and we are still watching Noggin at that time of night. Anyways, she was so sweet on the show. I liked her even more after watching it.

I like her short haircut too. I also never realized that she is only 5' 1" . I'm only 4'9 1/2" and I used to always get the short jokes. I wonder if she did?? If you haven't listened to any of Norah Jones music there is some here on my Blog.

When I was a little girl I always wanted to be a cowgirl, a nurse and a mommy. I did become a mommy at an early age and I did have my LPN license at one point, but I never became a cowgirl and I'm sure that I never will now. I think there is something so romantic about cowboys and cowgirls.

I was just curious about the symbolic meaning of butterflies. It's one of those subjects that you know a little bit about what it means but you never really had it explained to you. Anyway, I just thought I would look up the symbolic meaning and share it with you.

In ancient Greek the word for butterfly is "Psyche", which translated means "soul". This was also the name for Eros' human lover and when the two figures are depicted they are often surrounded by butterflies.
In one of the Russian dialects, butterflies are referred to as "dushuchka" which is a derivative of the word "dusha" also meaning soul.
There is also an Irish saying that refers to the symbolic meaning of butterflies. This saying is: "Butterflies are souls of the dead waiting to pass through purgatory".
There is a small town in Mexico that also associate butterflies with souls. It is to this town that Monarch Butterflies migrate every year, around the holiday known as the Day of the Dead. The people of this town see these butterflies as the returning souls of the deceased.

Dreaming of the butterfly relates to rebirth and metamorphosis. Often when we dream of butterflies it indicates we are going through a transition in our lives. Here the subconscious is telling us to be mindful of the changes taking place. These changes are natural, and we should do our best to appreciate the shifts as they come (rather than fighting the changes).

Butterfly animal symbolism speaks of:
1. Resurrection
2. Transition
3. Celebration
4. Lightness
5. Time
6. Soul

I love butterflies! They are so delicate and beautiful! I love when girls put those little butterfly clips in their hair, it looks so cute! Such a thing of beauty!

FUNKY HIGH HAIRDO'S!

These are my 2 daughters. Do you like their high hairdo's? There is no hairspray or gel on it. This only took them about 2 minutes to fix. Can you guess how they did it? I was amazed the first time I saw my oldest daughter do this, but it doesn't take much to amaze me either.

I have always wished I could dance. Not necessarily ballet, but just dance. I've never had the confidence to dance in public. Even at weddings during group dances I feel very self conscious. I have always wished I could just dance, besides around the house with my toddler.

My daughter gave me a bag of these Wildly Cherry M&M's the other night and they are so yummy!! They are a delicious blend of cherry and chocolate! Yum!Yum!Yum! You should definitely "Get Wild" and try these quick, because unfortunately, they are only out for a limited time. The good stuff is always temporary!

Johnny Depp

Okay, I'm not the type of person to go around drooling over guys. I don't go writing to movie stars or joining fan clubs, personally, I think all that is kind of silly. I DO think that Johnny Depp is an extremely talented and versatile actor and I have liked him since he was on "21 Jump Street". I haven't watched every movie he has been in, actually, I've probably only seen a little more than a handful of his movies. I will have to admit that I think Johnny Depp is very sexy!! I love his eyes and smile! He has a certain charm about him and I wonder what is going on in his head. Anyway, this is one of my little "secrets" that I thought I would share because most people that know me probably don't think of me as thinking somebody is sexy like that??? All I have to say though is, "TOM CRUISE EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!" Johnny Depp is so much sexier than you!! I'm not sure what your appeal is to women??
